New Captain of RCB: Who can replace Virat Kohli ?

Who will become the New Captain of RCB after Virat Kohli ?? This is question everyone is asking right now.

We all know that Indian Cricket team skipper, Virat Kohli decided to leave the captaincy of India in T20 cricket after the T20 world cup. According to Virat, it will help him to manage his workload. Virat has been playing all three formats for 8 years and captaining India for 5 years. Virat has to take this decision due to the sudden dip in his batting form and he didn’t score a century in almost 700 days. So to reduce his workload he gain announced to leave Captaincy of Royal Challengers Bangalore after this years Indian Premier League.

Till now Virat has played 132 matches and won only 62 matches. On the other hand lost 66 matches and 4 ended in no results. Virat has been captaining RCB since 2013 and didn’t get to lift the cup as a captain. This year (2021) will be the last year of his captaincy. So we all hope that he will become successful in winning the IPL tropy for the first time.

3 players who can replace Virat and become the New Captain of RCB

There was tension building in Royal Challengers Bangalore camp as Virat left the captaincy. The team’s performance also let down everyone in their 1st match of the 2nd leg of IPL 2021 in UAE. As Royal Challengers Bangalore were all out for just 92 runs in 19 overs against Kolkata knight riders who beat them in 10 overs with 9 wicket spare. There are rumours that RCB can name their new Captain in the middle of IPL 2021 as Virat is going through a hard time right now. So there are 2 contenders for RCB captain right now and 3rd one is a surprise.

AB de Villiers As A new Captain

Till now no one except South African cricketer Abraham Benjamin de Villiers deserves to be the captain. He has played for RCB since 2011. He holds the record for scoring fastest 50, fastest 100 and fastest 150 in ODI cricket. He received ICC ODI PLAYER OF THE YEAR 3 times in his 15 years career. He has been the captain of South Africa in all 3 formats but he left due to a series of injuries. He announced retirement from cricket in 2018.

So if RCB is looking for an experienced captain, they can go for AB de Villiers. He has delivered every year for RCB and is called Superman, Mr. 360 etc. So he will be my first choice as RCB captain.

Devdutt Paddikal can be chosen as a young captain of RCB as Delhi Chose Shreyas Ayer As a new captain in 2018

The rising star Royal challengers Bangalore Devdutt Paddikal is improving his game day by day. He plays domestic cricket for Karnataka and also made his debut in India National team on July 21st. If the selectors want a new young Captain who will play for at least 10 years then it would be him. As AB can retire at any time soon. So it will be a bit risky to appoint him as a captain because he had been bery far from the pressure of international cricket.

He is a left-handed batsman who can a little bit of off-break. He is now in his best form in this year’s IPL. He had scored a century against Rajasthan Royals and single handedly won the match for Bangalore earlier this year. First may want him to become captain and teach him what he knows.

Rcb can select a New Captain from the 2022 auction

In the present scenario, there are not many options for players who can be the captain in 2022. So RCB selectors will go for an experienced player who can lead their team. I think this has the highest chance of happening. In 2022 mega auction will be held and there will be so many options to select as a captain.

Virat Kohli will play his IPL as RCB captain. So it will be his last chance to win the IPL Cup as a Captain. From 2022 he will play for Royal Challengers Bangalore but only as a player. I only assumed who can replace Virat. But the possibility is endless.
